Cocous charcoal is not coal for rapid light. they cannot be lit with a lighter. It might be advantageous to use an electric stove or burner. It burns for about 12 to 14 minutes, depending on the wattage of your burner. We have a less than 2% ash rate. our briquettes are solid and tasteless. They won't break if you drop them.
